Nairobi Catholic Archbishop John Cardinal Njue on Sunday celebrated 30 years of service as a bishop.

During the celebrations held at St Paul’s Makima Catholic Parish in Embu, Cardinal Njue urged Kenyans to unite and shun tribalism.

He said Kenya was at a very delicate point as the 2017 elections approach and that there is a need for Kenyans to enhance tolerance and cultivate love for one another to ensure the country is peaceful.

Cardinal Njue said it was the responsibility of every Kenyan to seek peaceful co-existence.

He also called on the faithful to pray for him in his evangelism work.

“Adults should learn from the children. They work together and don’t fight.

“Let us not focus on where we come from but work together as one people.

“When leaders fight, those under them are the ones who suffer. Let us strive to end tribalism and love one another,” said Cardinal Njue.

He said his journey as a bishop and cardinal has not been easy and called for prayers from the faithful.
