Homa Bay police are investigating the death of a prison warder’s wife whose body was found in the staff quarters on Tuesday morning.

The woman, whose body was found on the bed, was identified as Damaris Nthenya, 29.

County Police Commander Marius Tum said Nthenya’s husband was on leave when she died.

“Constable Dominic is in his rural home. His wife was in the house with their two children,” Mr Tum said.

The body did not have physical injuries.
The police boss said the woman shared the bed with her children aged two and six.

He added that preliminary investigations eliminated poisoning as the case of the woman’s death.

“Detectives did not find drugs or any bottle containing chemicals in the room,” Mr Tum said.

The woman’s body was later taken to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital mortuary.

Elsewhere, the body of a 10-year-old child was found in Kaksingri West Location of Suba South Sub-County on Monday.

Residents said the child might have been killed elsewhere.

Chief Samuel Obado said the body of the Standard Three pupil had marks on the back.

“The boy’s body was dumped in a flooded ditch. There is a chance that he was hit with blunt objects. He was also naked,” he said.

The administrator added that his office would help security officials with investigations into the death of the child.

The body was taken to Kirindo mortuary.
