Kiambu Governor Kabogo concedes defeat to Waititu

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has conceded defeat to Ferdinand Waititu of Jubilee in the Just-concluded election.
Mr Kabogo, who vied as an independent candidate after losing in the Jubilee Party nominations has, at the same time, said he is willing to help incoming governor if he is requested, in order to make Kiambu develop.
According to IEBC results for the Kiambu governorship race, by Wednesday afternoon Mr Waititu had garnered a total of 738,735 votes (78.16 per cent) against Mr Kabogo’s 198,655 votes (21.02 per cent).
Mr Kabogo has wished the new team well and thanked Kiambu people for having offered him an opportunity to serve them.
The outgoing governor said he had already talked to Mr Waititu and congratulated him.
During the campaigns, Mr Waititu and his running mate, James Nyoro, enjoyed the support of all other Jubilee candidates in the region and formed a group called United for Kiambu.
The two have vowed to “undo all the messes created by Mr Kabogo’s leadership”, saying they have a manifesto that will do what the governor failed to do in terms of development.
