Infotrak poll puts Buzeki, Joho and Oparanya ahead of rivals

What you need to know:

  • 54.2 per cent said they would vote for Mr Buzeki while 42.1 per cent said they would vote for Governor Mandago.
  • In Mombasa, Governor Hassan Joho (ODM) is ahead with 63 per cent.
  • Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya (ODM) is ahead of his closest rival, Senator Boni Khalwale.

Results of a new opinion poll released by Infotrak indicate that Mr Zedekiah Bundotich Buzeki, an independent candidate in the Uasin Gishu governorship race, would beat the incumbent Governor Jackson Mandago if elections were to be held today.

Out of those polled, 54.2 per cent said they would vote for Mr Buzeki while 42.1 per cent said they would vote for Governor Mandago.

Another 3.7 per cent are undecided.

The Infotrak poll also puts Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya (ODM) ahead of his closest rival, Senator Boni Khalwale (Ford Kenya) who seeks to unseat him.

Mr Oparanya would get 68.3 per cent of the votes while Dr Khalwale would get 13 per cent.

In Mombasa, the Infotrak poll puts incumbent Governor Hassan Joho (ODM) ahead with 63 per cent popularity while Jubilee’s Suleiman Shahbal would get 15 per cent of the votes.

Wiper’s Hassan Omar would be third with 4.8 of the votes while Nyali MP Hezron Awiti, who is also seeking to be governor on the Vibrant Democratic Party would get only 3 of the votes.
