A fight between a man and his wife turned tragic when their child slipped from the mother's back and died on Sunday in Nairobi’s Lunga Lunga estate.

Police said the mother was carrying the toddler on her back when her husband picked a quarrel with her.

Mr Simon Wanjohi, 27, was fighting with his wife Mr Caroline Nduta in their house when the one and half year-old-girl slipped and fell down.

The child, Blessing Wambui, is suspected to have died of internal injuries. The man disappeared immediately after the incident and has not been traced.

The body was taken to City Funeral Home awaiting post mortem.
