A man is nursing bullet wounds after he was caught in a crossfire between police officers and suspected gangsters on Tuesday evening on Latema Road in Nairobi.

Police say officers on patrol on Moi Avenue spotted a suspicious motorcycle ferrying four passengers.

The suspects were trailed to Latema Road, where they were ordered to stop. Police said the suspects defied the orders and one started shooting at the officers as the others ran in different directions.

The officers managed to arrest three suspects, while the fourth, who was armed, managed to escape.

While escaping, the suspected gangster shot and injured a pedestrian, who was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.

A knife was seized from the arrested suspects.
