Award-winning fashion blogger and stylist Silvia Njoki has chopped off her dreadlocks after five years.  In her YouTube vlog, the stylist listed lack of versatility as one of the main reasons she decided to do away with her signature look.

“This was not an overnight decision, I thought about it for close to a year. Over the last year I’ve trimmed my hair, dyed it and I was literally running out of ideas of what to do with my hair. So after having dreadlocks for close to five years I felt like I needed a change. My main reason was actually versatility, it got to a point where there wasn’t much I could do with my hair and living in the coast it was so hot,” she said.

However after combing out her hair and ending up with a small afro, Njoki felt she missed her dreadlocks and got a new style of locks called Sisterlocks.
