What you need to know:

  • Date him if you want.
  • Break your friend’s trust if it means that little to you, but do not go to anyone crying when he starts running around with another woman behind your back.

Hello Brenda,

I like the practical advice you give people. So, I went out with some friends for drinks and one of my friends' boyfriends hit on me while we were on the dance floor. I chalked it up to drunkenness but then he has started sending me flirty texts. I know I should be scandalised but I really dig his texts. My issue is that my pal is now talking about how she suspects her boyfriend of cheating, and I am starting to feel guilty about our little texts. I am wondering what my next move should be...what should I do? Sylvia

Girl, as soon as someone starts doing something with another person that they wouldn’t want their partner to see or hear, they are cheating! So you, in case you are confused about this, are the woman that your friend’s boyfriend is cheating on her with.

That said, you should not entertain a man who is in a relationship with another woman. Who does that? And by the way, this has nothing to do with the girl code. I say this because if he is cheating on her with you, it will be even easier to cheat on you with the next pretty thing he sees.

Date him if you want. Break your friend’s trust if it means that little to you, but do not go to anyone crying when he starts running around with another woman behind your back.
