Four killed in crash after driver evades NTSA officers

Four people died in an accident a Jogoo on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway after their vehicle rammed into a lorry.

The vehicle hit the lorry as the driver was trying to overtake other vehicles, according to area Traffic Base Commander Moses Nderitu.

Three other people who were in the vehicle were injured and were taken to Molo Sub-County Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle had earlier been waved down by National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) officials but did not stop.

“The driver declined to stop at an NTSA roadblock at Total area along the highway,” said Mr Nderitu.

An eyewitness, Joseph Wainaina, said the vehicle was heading to Nakuru from Eldoret.

The accident occurred barely a week after two other accidents claimed four lives on the Sobea-Salgaa-Kibunjia stretch of the highway.
