Kitili appoints county commanders, transfers 64 senior officers

  • Former police spokesperson Zipporah Mboroki has been transferred from Vigilance House and is the new Lari OCPD
  • Buruburu police division head (OCPD) Richard Kerich is the new Nairobi County deputy commander and he has been replaced by Mr Geoffrey Mayek.
  • One of the senior officers in Deputy President William Ruto’s security detail, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Noah Maiyo has been transferred to the Presidential Escort Unit (PEU) at State House.
  • Former Bangale OCS Wilson Muraya has been transferred to the Kenya Police College, while the former Kipini OCS Rogers Bosire is the new Machakos deputy OCPD.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Joel Kitili has appointed five county commanders and transferred 59 other senior police officers across the country.

The Nyanza and Rift Valley regional traffic commanders have been transferred and deployed to regular duties.

The new Mombasa County commander is former Masaba North police division head (OCPD) Patterson Maelo while former Rift Valley traffic boss Mary Wangui Omari has been transferred to Tharaka-Nithi County as the commander.

Others are Tom Mboya Odero (Kajiado), Manase Musyoka (Garissa) and Kipkemoi Rop (Taita-Taveta).

In Rift Valley, Ms Omari has been replaced by former Changamwe OCPD Joseph Muthee.

Former Nyanza traffic boss Joshua Omukata is the new Nakuru OCPD, and has been replaced by Andrew Naibei, who was the acting Eastern traffic boss.

Former police spokeswoman Zipporah Mboroki has been transferred from Vigilance House and is the new Lari OCPD.

One of the senior officers in Deputy President William Ruto’s security detail, Assistant Superintendent of Police Noah Maiyo, has been transferred to the Presidential Escort Unit (PEU) at State House.

The new director of police reforms is Julius Muthama Kitili while Buruburu OCPD Richard Kerich is the new Nairobi County deputy commander. Mr Kerich has been replaced by Geoffrey Mayek.

Other OCPDs transferred are Moyale’s Thomas Atuti to Kiambu and Joseph Ongaya to Kabete in the same capacity.

A former station commander (OCS) and five other commanders have been promoted and deployed as an OCPD and deputy OCPDs respectively.
