Nasa seeks court help to stop ballot printing
The opposition has finally made real its threats of stopping the electoral agency from proceeding with the printing of ballot papers for the August 8 elections.
In a suit filed on Thursday, the National Super Alliance (Nasa) has sued the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (EBC) for single sourcing the tender award for ballot papers as well as results forms for the Presidential elections.
IEBC has already signed a contract with Al Ghurair printing company to print the papers.
Nasa has listed Al Ghurair as an interested party.

Through lawyer Jackson Awele, Nasa accuse IEBC of going ahead with awarding the tender and signing the contract without consulting stakeholders involved, as per the law.
Despite interventions from religious leaders and civil society, Nasa faults IEBC of single handedly implementing its decision.
IEBC has already announced that the printing of ballot papers is set to commence on Friday.
Nasa argues that the manner in which the award of the tender was done, undermines integrity of the forthcoming elections in favour of specific presidential candidates.
They therefore want the May 29 decision quashed and that the electoral agency be compelled to reconsider it with involvement of stake holders.
Nasa also wants IEBC blocked form reconsidering to contract Al Ghurair or its affiliates.
