  • The Wiper party leader urged the residents to reject Jubilee Party and all those allied to it.
  • The rally will likely boost the fortunes of Ms Ndeti who has been embroiled in court cases challenging her nomination.

Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Friday made a grand entry to Machakos town and declared Ms Wavinya Ndeti as the next Machakos governor.

It was the first rally by leaders from the region since Mr Musyoka, Nasa presidential running mate, differed with Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and his Kitui counterpart David Musila.

“I urge those who lost in the nominations to work with the winners. Even the chairman’s seat will not be filled until after the Kitui election results,” Mr Musyoka said.

The Wiper party leader urged the residents to reject Jubilee Party and all those allied to it.

He said there will be no vote rigging as Nasa will have agents who will monitor and record the results, adding that the only thing they will not do is to announce the results as that is the work of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

“This time we are not joking. We are targeting 10 million votes,” Mr Musyoka said.
