The National Super Alliance has said no elections will be held on October 17 if their demands are not met.
Addressing journalists on Wednesday, Nasa leaders dismissed reports that they will boycott the repeat presidential elections, saying no polls will held at all if the petition they handed to the electoral body on Tuesday is not addressed.
“Nasa wishes to inform Kenyans that there will be no polls if concerns raised in our petition are not met,” Nasa co-principal and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula said.
He said they handed to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) a petition outlining their “bare minimum” requirements for a credible election.
Among the demands by Nasa is the sacking if IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba, prosecution of some of the commissions senior employees and access to its servers.
