The exact number of athletes travelling for the World Championships in London will be known Friday when Athletics Kenya top brass visits the camp.

The team departs for London on Tuesday.

Team Kenya comprising of 54 athletes, have been camping at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani for over a week now.

However, World 400m champion Nicholas Bett, 400m sprinter Alphas Kishoyian and 800m runner Michael Saruni, are the athletes at camp but will not travel for the championships.

Bett is out with an injury, Kishoyian failed to attain the qualifying time in 400m while Saruni was knocked off a congested 800m team on Monday.

The two-lap race team has Olympics and Worlds 800m champion David Rudisha, World Under-20 800m champion Kipyegon Bett, 2016 Diamond League Series winner Ferguson Rotich and Worlds trials winner Emmanuel Korir.

A statement from Athletics Kenya said a team led by President Jack Tuwei will meet the squad from 2.30pm at the Moi International Sports Stadium, Kasarani.

The list of the athletes making the final travelling party has closely been guarded and will be based on those who have adhered to the IAAF and World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) requirements of four dope tests - three out-of-competition test and one in-competition test.

The Championships begin on August 4.
