Stanley Irungu, a 35-year-old real estate agent and engineer in Kitengela, on Wednesday joined the millionaires club after walking away with a Sh2 million Mcheza jackpot cash prize.

Speaking while receiving his prize, Irungu, a father of three, could not hide his excitement as he narrated how he played on the jackpot. He said he would use the prize to complete constructing his house.

“I am so grateful to God for winning this money, which will go into the completion of my home under construction. I have been playing everyday for two years on the Mcheza jackpot. I am glad that finally luck came my way."

“I placed three different bets of Sh1,600, Sh800 and two of Sh400 on the jackpot. It’s the Sh800 combination won me the Sh2 million,” narrated Irungu, who encouraged punters to play responsibly and make calculated risks. While handing over the cheque, Mcheza head of communications Emily Manjeru congratulated Irungu and encouraged customers to keep playing and winning with Mcheza.

Irungu, an Arsenal fan, was accompanied by his friend, Stephen Ngugi, a Manchester United fan.

“We’ve been helping each other place bets and winning. Now that he’s won, it’s our victory. I would like to urge players to play responsibly to avoid getting into unnecessary debt,” said Ngugi.
