I call it biting the finger that fed you. How else would you explain Kangundo MP’s advice to President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga to snub a meeting called by mediator Kofi Annan?
Dr Annan saved this country from civil strife and many Kenyans are grateful to him. Were it not for Dr Annan most of us would be refugees in Zimbabwe.
Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has played a vital role in the fight against impunity in Kenya. He has tirelessly laboured to bring together President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga, with the aim of helping us to build a better Nation.
What our leaders must realize is that, this is a transitional government and we expect them to fulfil the pledges they made to us so that we can have peaceful election come 2012.
Former Nigerian Foreign minister Oluyemi Adeniji, who was left to chair the negotiations between ODM and Party of National Unity (PNU), has called for the implementation of the Agenda 4 in the National Accord over and over again. However, his pleas have been falling on deaf ears as our leaders continue to tackle other issues outside Agenda 4.
The Agenda 4 has very sensitive issues to tackle and should be given more attention but the two parties have been giving flimsy excuses.
Mr Adeniji was in Kenya for the better part of last year but the warring parties are still at loggerheads.
