Officer killed, three injured in suspected bandit attack

A police officer was on Tuesday killed while three others were seriously injured after they were ambushed by suspected bandits in Marti, Samburu County.
The injured are receiving treatment at Samburu County Referral Hospital in Maralal town.
The hospital's medical superintendent Silas Lodoke said the victims are in stable condition.
He said they would later be airlifted to Nairobi for specialised treatment.
Samburu County Police Commander Karanja Muiruri confirmed the incident, saying that the officers were on a mission to recover 50 cattle that had been earlier stolen in Suyan, in Samburu North when they were attacked.
