Mandago leads in Uasin Gishu Jubilee poll as Buzeki cries foul

  • From two constituencies out of six, Mr Mandago was leading with 44,401 votes against Mr Buzeki’s 30,061.
  • Mr Buzeki complained that most of his supporters had been locked out of the voting.

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago is headed for a resounding victory in the Jubilee contest for the governor’s seat against his closest challenger, Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop, popularly known as Buzeki.

So far, Mr Mandago is leading in most constituencies although Mr Buzeki has already contested the results, saying most of his supporters had not been allowed to vote.

From two constituencies out of six, Mr Mandago was leading with 44,401 votes against Mr Buzeki’s 30,061.

These were from Moiben and Kesses constituencies.

Votes from Soy, Turbo, Ainabkoi and Kapseret are still being tailed.

Mr Buzeki addressed journalists at MV Patel Memorial Hall polling station Tuesday night saying most of his supporters had been locked out of the voting.

Supporters of Mr Mandago are already celebrating in Eldoret Town as tallying continues.
