Police in Tana River are looking for the family of a woman whose body was recovered at a canal in Bura.
The woman, identified as Janet Akinyi Omollo, was swept away by flash floods as she crossed a road at Bilbil, Tana River County.
Bura OCPD Tom Okoth told nation.co.ke that the woman was coming from hospital in Garissa, where she had been referred to for further treatment, when the incident occurred.
“While trying to cross the broken road alongside other people, the woman panicked and slid before being swept raging floods,” said the OCPD.
Mr Okoth said that body was taken to Mwingi Level 4 Hospital mortuary.
