Three people died after the matatu they were travelling in hit a bus along the Kenol-Murang’a road on Monday.

Several other passengers in the matatu were seriously injured and taken to hospital.

According to Murang’a County Police Commander Josephat Kinyua, among the dead is Mbugwa Sub-Location Assistant Chief Michael Nduati.

“The assistant chief had just come from a meeting at Kenol where he had delivered Huduma Namba registration report. The matatu he was travelling in hit the bus as it tried to overtake a motorcycle,” Mr Kinyua said.

He said the other two who died was a man and a child. The police boss said the speeding matatu hit the bus as it was overtaking a motorcycle.
