They will later fly to Lamu to join Muslims for Iftar (fast-ending evening meal during Ramadhan).

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Senate Minority Leader Moses Wetang’ula are to pitch camp in Lamu to market the Nasa coalition agenda.

On Friday, Mr Odinga and Mr Musyoka will reach out to Voi and Taveta residents in Taita-Taveta County.

Mr Mudavadi and Mr Wetang’ula will go on a vote hunt in Wundanyi and Mwatate before joining Mr Odinga and Mr Musyoka in Voi.

The two teams are to later fly to Mombasa for Iftar.

On Saturday, the Nasa leaders will be in Makueni County.

The opposition visit to the Coast comes a week after President Kenyatta and Mr Ruto were in Mombasa to launch Jubilee administration's signature project, the standard gauge railway.

SGR DEBATE

While President Kenyatta and Mr Ruto term the project historic and a game changer that will help spur industrialisation, the opposition says its cost was inflated by more than Sh100 billion.

Issues of land, water, roads, ports, tourism, wildlife, minerals, poverty, economy and high cost of maize flour have dominated campaigns at the Coast.

Others are jobs, development, marginalisation, Muslims rights, devolution, health and education.

The Coast residents overwhelmingly voted for the opposition in 2013.

However, President Kenyatta and Mr Ruto have been making forays into the area, dishing out goodies and fishing from the opposition waters in a bid to penetrate the perceived Nasa turf.
