Brad Pitt ‘not child paying support’

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie is now seeking a court order for retroactive funds after she claimed last week that her ex-husband, and also movie star, Brad Pitt, has not been paying child support.

The former couple who started their romance in 2005 while on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith film, have six children: Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 13, and nine-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

The once-celebrated Hollywood couple split in 2016, but they are still at loggerheads in court over their divorce, which now seems to have taken a new twist.

Angelina alleged that her former partner is yet to pay meaningful child support since their split, almost two years ago.

According to NBC News, Angelina’s lawyer, Samantha Bley DeJean, filed court documents in a Los Angeles Superior Court, in which the actress requested a status conference with a judge.

“Pitt has a duty to pay child support. As of present, Pitt has paid no meaningful child support.”

This comes at a time the two actors are still trying to work on the details of their divorce. However, it is said they are unable to reach an agreement that they are both happy with.

Beiber and Baldwin opt for lengthier engagement

Canadian RnB star Justin Beiber, 24, and his model fiancé Hailey Baldwin, 21, have pushed their wedding to sometime next year, “to enjoy their engagement”.

Beiber shocked the world with his engagement to Hailey just months after breaking up with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez.

Since popping the question in July, Beiber and Hailey are said to be madly in love and they have been together on never-ending tour of dates in New York and beyond.

The two are said to have gotten intense with the wedding preparations, but they have now slowed down to enjoy their engagement as reported by The People Magazine.

"They still don’t want a long engagement but they are also not rushing the wedding… they realised they want to enjoy being engaged for a while,” the Beiber source was quoted.\

Grand Pa ‘diversifying’

Grand Pa Records’ CEO Refigah has come out guns blazing to dismiss rumours that he has gone broke.

The rumours were sparked a few months ago following a mass exodus of the label’s top artistes Dufla, Kenrazy, Gin Ideal, Kenrazy, Sosuun among others.

The label is yet to release songs since last year and, in an interview with Showbuzz two months ago, Refigah disclosed that Grand Pa had taken a sabbatical to re-strategise.

The rumour has been reignited with the recent launch of Grand Pa Suites. It is claimed that the once-booming music business was no longer lucrative to the rapper turned producer, who is now looking into new avenues for making money.

Reacting to the claims, Refigah termed them as rubbish. “Broke? I’m doing just fine. The likes of Sean Combs, own businesses. Closer home, Jose Chameleone is also a heavy investor. What’s the problem when I do the same?”

Refigah told Show buzz of plans to launch Grand Pa Rwanda very soon.

Mavoko wants out of Wasafi

Bongo flava star Diamond Platinumz has claimed that he is yet to make any profits from his signed artiste Rich Mavoko. But Mavoko has accused him of exploitation, and now he wants to ditch Wasafi record label.

Mavoko dropped Kaka Empire label, owned by rapper King Kaka, in 2016 to join Diamond’s Wasafi. He claims that the contract he was offered was exploitative, thus, doing him more harm than good.

Last week, Mavoko reached out to Tanzania Music Regulatory Board, popularly known as BASATA, to air out his grievances as well as seek help to enable him terminate the contract. However, the matter wasn’t concluded as BASATA had to listen to his case before summoning Wasafi to give their side of the story. The three parties are set to have a joint meeting to seek a solution.

“We are yet to realise just a quarter of the amount of money we have invested on Mavoko. He is still an artiste signed to Wasafi as per the contract because it’s still binding and there are set rules before terminating it. We haven’t gotten to that point as yet even though he already wants out,” Diamond’s manager Sallam SK disclosed.

More Sam West Comedy in store

Events organiser and comedian Sam West has dismissed reports that he is trying to compete with Churchill Show after hosting a successful third edition of Sam West Comedy Show at Panari Hotel on Friday.

He stated that he is not out to compete with anyone, but to create more comical content as the country has vast talent that lack a platform.

“If anything, all these guys (comedians) are my friends who even showed up in my previous shows as a sign of support. All I am trying to do is creating a different kind of content and, to be specific, Kenyan, English comedy. We’ve got lots of untapped talent out here who can offer variety to what’s already there.”

He also dismissed those of the opinion that his shows will soon fail like others that were started before by comedians Eric Omondi and Teacher Wanjiku.

“What people don’t know is that I have been an events organiser all my life. I am not new to this kind of business. I have the experience and, as you can attest, we are already on the third edition. More is coming.”
