HomesKenya Limited, the organiser of the Kenya Homes Expo in partnership with the KICC, completed Phase I of their corporate social responsibility activities at Gatina Primary School in Nairobi.

The works completed included tiling of dilapidated classroom floors, painting and provision of desks and seating facilities for the children.

In July, at a ceremony to officiate the rehabilitation, KICC chief executive, Ms Nana Gecaga, emphasised the need for corporates to give heed to scarcity by taking on projects that impact on the less privileged.

She encouraged the children to aim high and work hard in their studies and take good care of their health while telling them that with hard work, all dreams are achievable.

During the event, Ministry of Education, Dagoretti county official, Ms Alice Gathii, commended the two corporates for taking initiative to rehabilitate the primary school.

She emphasised on the need to have a conducive learning environment and highlighted the role of the ministry in the provision of quality education to future generations.

She went further to promise the team that the students would deliver superb results in this year’s KCPE examinations.
