Moving on has proved to be too hard from a heart break I suffered two years ago.

What you need to know:

  • If you want the girl, pray that she's single, and go get her.
  • If she isn't single – well, as long as she isn't married or in love, go and get her.

Hi Brenda,
Moving on has proved to be too hard from a heart break I suffered two years ago. I can’t seem to be able to erase my feelings for my ex. Am I being childish? I have had so many pieces of advice but I am neither healing nor moving on. I keep on regretting why I agreed to part ways. She came up with the idea first and in my stupidity, I agreed. Now I regret it hoping that a miracle will happen one day.

Dear Misguided Michael,

Now that you have had two years to contemplate your mistake, what are you going to do about it? Please don't spend another two years whining.

If you want the girl, pray that she's single, and go get her. If she isn't single – well, as long as she isn't married or in love, go and get her.

And don't listen to yourself when she comes up with the idea to break up.

Refuse if you actually love this woman. Fight for her! But also, when I say go back to her, go back to ask why you broke up and whether you can change anything – ask if you still have a chance.

Don't be that ex-boyfriend who waits until the wedding day to object loudly as spurred on by the liquid courage contained in his flask.

You didn't know you weren't over her after two years? Surely, Michael.
