What you need to know:

  • This being his eighth year since he officially entered into the music scene, King Koko Bee already has two albums.
  • In his hit single, ‘I was Born’ he wishes not to forget his Kisii roots despite staying away from home for a long time.
  • For now his focus is to sell his music locally even as he awaits his planned tour of Italy in less than five months.

His main focus is to bring back the reggae music vibe into the Kenyan scene, a fact that is evident in his hard lyrics associated with this music.

His love for the reggae culture evidently comes out in his long beard, thick, carefully tied dread locks and bright outfits, with his inspiration coming from some of the greatest reggae icons like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Culture.

But that is not the only identity Jospegter Ayienda alias King Koko Bee wishes to be remembered for, with his main focus being using messages in his music to revive the love for this music among the youth.

This being his eighth year since he officially entered into the music scene, King Koko Bee already has two albums, songs that he is in the process of re-launching.

RE-INVENT MUSIC

His decision to re-record he says, is to re-invent music he had worked on earlier and hopefully improve levels of production quality thus attract more fans.

“One of the albums is ‘Genocide’ which has six singles including ‘Solution’, ‘Together’ and ‘Children’s Rights’, with three songs already out,” he adds.

Vampire is one of the hits he has already released, a song that speaks of great leaders that Africa has had.

In his hit single, ‘I was Born’ he wishes not to forget his Kisii roots despite staying away from home for a long time.

His strategy remains to compose hits with strong messages that capture the everyday life of the ordinary citizen, in an effort to clear the misconceptions associated with this genre of music.

“In this spirit I have already planned for two shows all in an effort to popularise this music.

“My team of managers and directors have already laid strategies to market my music,” he adds.

His main aim for now is to work with any message-oriented artiste.

“I would really love to work with Jua Cali so as to mix the flavour of genge and reggae which I am quite sure will bring out a unique rhythm,” he adds.

For now his focus is to sell his music locally even as he awaits his planned tour of Italy in less than five months.
