Two teachers arrested after they were found drinking with their students in Ol Kalou town will face criminal charges.
Ol Kalou OCPD Wilson Kosgei said on Tuesday that police decided to add criminal charges related to child abuse, saying earlier charges of being drunk and disorderly were too lenient.
“We have completed our investigations and forwarded the file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
We are waiting for further instructions from the DPP,” said Mr Kosgei.
PRIVATE SCHOOL

Senior Education ministry officials visited the station and are conducting their own investigations, he added.
The two teachers and a school driver were with 33 Form Four students comprising 11 girls and 22 boys from Naivasha Mixed High School.
They were arrested at 9 pm on Friday after they were found “having fun” with their students.
DRINKS
They had obtained the drinks from a local supermarket.
On Monday, detectives spent the better part of the day collecting evidence at a supermarket in Ol Kalou where the students and teachers are suspected to have bought the alcoholic drinks.
The supermarket’s senior supervisor, Mr James Ndirangu, said detectives spent hours studying CCTV footage.
“The clips do not show any of our staff selling alcohol to the students.
But it shows that they came in totally drunk. Some of the girls had removed their uniform and were dressed in T-shirts and bikers.
The boys had removed their shirts to remain in vests,” said Mr Ndirangu.
ALCOHOL
Mr Ndirangu added that if anyone bought alcohol, it must be one of the teachers.
He said at one time, he was forced to kick out some students for indecent behaviour in the supermarket at the snacks section.
“I went out of my way to kick some of them out of the shop. Their behaviour was disgusting, raising concerns among other customers," he said adding that
the students, who were in the company of an equally drunk teacher, exhibited a high level of indiscipline and immorality.
SACKED
The school director Mr Samuel Gatune said the institution has sacked one of the teachers and the students involved in the incident.
“We are also investigating the matter, we have suspended the students and dismissed one of the teachers,” said Mr Gatune.
