Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and workers union boss Francis Atwoli paid former president Daniel arap Moi a visit at his Kabarak home.

According to a statement from Mr Moi's personal secretary Lee Njiru, the meeting lasted less than 30 minutes.

Mr Moi called for honesty and prudent financial management by government officials, the statement said.

“I urge all government officials to give President Uhuru Kenyatta support to uplift the living standards of all Kenyans,” read the statement.

Mr Moi said without honesty and a positive work ethic, it would be difficult to attain the lofty ideals of the government.

Following the visit CS Wamalwa said in a Twitter post, "Pleased to pay a courtesy call on the second President of the Republic of Kenya H.E Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi, who being a farmer himself was keen to know whether we have completed paying the farmers and the food situation in the country generally."

Mr Atwoli said his organisation supports constitutional reforms that can bring about national unity. He thanked Mzee Moi for continuing to be a source of valuable advice and blessings.
