South Indian T20 tourney starts in Nairobi

Coast Super Kings will open their campaign to defend the South Indian Cultural Society (SICS) 25 overs cricket title against Mount Kenya Chargers at Nairobi Gymkhana on Sunday at 8:30 am.

The normally annual tournament was last held in 2015.

In the second game of the day from1:30 pm at the same venue, Masai Mara Tuskers will clash with Rift Valley Chargers. The majority of players taking part in the competition represent Stray Lions and their associate teams in the Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association league (NPCA). Stray Lions, who are NPCA super league champions have a good number of professional players from India in their side.

The championship has been attracting players from India, and this year’s event is not expected to be different. The tournament also rewards players handsomely for good performance.

The South Indian tournament usually attracts huge crowd with many tents of various sponsors and reminds one of the good old days when Gymkhana hosted international events.
