Kipsang drops out of Berlin Marathon

- Former record holder Wilson Kipsang of Kenya dropped out of Sunday's 44th BMW Berlin Marathon at the 30km mark.
- Kipsang, who was bidding to break compatriot's Dennis Kimetto’s world best mark of two hours, two minutes and 57 seconds, had initially kept up with the leading pack before he began falling off the pace.

The 2103 champion Kipsang, who was bidding to break compatriot's Dennis Kimetto’s world best mark of two hours, two minutes and 57 seconds, had initially kept up with the leading pack before he began falling off the pace.
Kenya's Eliud Kipchoge and debutant Guye Adola of Ethiopia currently lead the race as they seek to break the record. Defending champion Kenenisa Bekele has also fallen off the pace after an impressive start.
Kipsang suddenly stopped at the 30kms point and was clearly ill.
