National Super League (NSL) leaders Western Stima will be seeking to tighten their grip on the top spot when they tackle Kenya Police at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu on Saturday .

The fixture is the highlight of the nine matches lined up in round 13 of the second tier.

The law enforcers head into the encounter unbeaten in their opening 11 matches of the campaign, where they sit fourth on the 19-team log.

Stima on the other side are buoyed by a 2-1 away win over closest challengers Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) last Saturday that extended their lead at the top to four points.

KCB sit second on 23 points, albeit with a game in hand.

“We squeezed a win on the road that gave the boys confidence in the following match. In football, only positive results can keep the team going and it will be a target in the next match,” Stima coach Richard Makumbi said.

John Kamau’s KCB have another tricky clash against Kisumu All Stars on Sunday but will do without the services of suspended defender Dennis Gicheru.

“We had a good opportunity to watch them against Stima and we are going to handle them accordingly. The best part is that we play them at our backyard,” AllStars coach Nick Aketch told Nation Sport.
