What you need to know:

  • Biko Tindi drew the first blood for the visitors with a glancing header from a Justin Monda corner on 26 minutes before Michael Madoya equalised on four minutes to the break.
  • Substitute Peter Nzuki played a long pass to Jackson Macharia who did well to exchange a one-two with Muchiri before the former Sony Sugar winger struck on the far post on 83 minutes.

Boniface Muchiri returned to Tusker's starting line-up and struck the winner in a 2-1 win over Chemelil Sugar in the SportPesa Premier League at Ruaraka grounds on Wednesday.

The brewers, who battled to a goalless draw with Ulinzi Stars last Sunday, move to third spot on 17 points after nine games.

Madoya, returning from a long injury layoff, was fed by Muchiri inside the area before placing the ball into the top of Kevin Otieno's net in the Chemelil post.

The millers dominated the better part of first half, creating massive scoring chances but their striking force wasn't clinical.

Macharia saved Tusker from conceding early on when he cleared off the line a goal-bound shot seconds after the start.

Phillip Muchuma fluffed a 12th minute chance sending his low shot inches off the mark.

Robert Matano hauled off John Kamau for striker Bill Oporia to add punch to his offensive line that had been closely marked by the visitors backline.

The millers will blame themselves for wasting glorious chances in the final half. On 63 minutes, Waitere Lucas saw his header veer off the target.

Francis Ocholla thought he had levelled at the death but his goal was rightfully ruled out for offside by second assistant referee Gilbert Cheruiyot.
