AFC Leopards recorded a fourth win on the trot as they beat Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1 thanks to a last-minute penalty converted by on form striker Ezekiel Odera on Sunday at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos County.

Marvin Omondi, who was on the score sheet in Ingwe’s 4-3 win over Mathare United last weekend, struck in the 12th minute to put the big cats in the lead, but his efforts were effectively cancelled by Moses Mudavadi just two minutes later.

A Homeboyz player was however caught in a hand to ball incident inside the box with one minute left to play, necessitating a penalty which was duly converted by Odera.

It was the first game for Ingwe since Tanzanian Dennis Kitambi was elevated to the head coach’s position to replace the fired Robert Matano, and the fourth consecutive win for the 13-time champions, who now rise to second position on equal points with Gor Mahia.

In Awendo, hosts Sony Sugar threw away a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 to Mathare United.

Congolese forward Mwana Yema did well to put Sony ahead in the 20th minute, but the sugar millers were later bombarded with goals from Clifford Alwanga and Chrispinus Oduor who scored in the 37th and 43rd minutes of the game.
