Ulinzi Stars' Enosh Ochieng late goal cancelled out David Ojwang early opener as Ulinzi had to dig deep to salvage a point off visiting Western Stima in a SportPesa Premier League match at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru on Monday.
The soldiers continued their poor form at home as they struggled to conjure any meaningful chances in the first 45 minutes as Stima dominated and toyed with them with ease.
Ulinzi played with no purpose and one would be forgiven to think that they had nothing to lose, yet they sit in 12th position with paltry 14 points.
The visitors grabbed the lead in the second minute when Luke Ochieng's trademark long throw was turned into the net by Ojwang. The goal stung Ulinzi into action but they could only watch as Ibrahim Shambi's timid was easily collected by Samuel Onyango in the 10th minute.
Stima dominated possession and denied the hosts any chance to launch any attack and they were content with the lone goal in the first stanza.
After resumption, Ulinzi coach Dunstan Nyaudo threw in John Njuguna, Ezekiel Okare and Mark Bikokwa for Churchill Muloma, Elvis Nandwa and Daniel Waweru in a bid to get firepower upfront but the changes bore no fruit, once again.
At the other end, Paul Ogal pulled out tiring Laban Gambareko, Johannah Mwita and James Ogada and introduced Henry Onyango, Kennedy Otieno and Herbert Kopany as he looked to secure the three points.

Ogai said that Ulinzi were lucky to get a point as they thoought they had done enough to repel their attacks. "We will work on a few things to ensure we lock out the matches early enough before our next tie against Mt Kenya United at home," he said.
A frustrated Nyaudo was lost for world in the post-match interview. “These draws at home and no win is frustrating and it is high time we register a convincing win because we are receiving unnecessary insults from our loyal fans simply because we are not scoring,” said coach Nyaudo.
