Seven-time champions Nakuru will play Impala Saracens in Enterprise Cup quarterfinals on Saturday at Impala Sports Club grounds, Nairobi.

Kenya Rugby Union gave Nakuru the nod over Strathmore Leos following their aborted first round match on Saturday at the Madaraka grounds, Nairobi.

Hosts Strathmore Leos had failed to mark the grounds appropriately on time for their pre-quarterfinal match with Nakuru that was to start at 4pm.

Upon being notified, Strathmore completed marking the match venue, the process ending 30 minutes later by which time referee Emmanuel Marete called off the match.

Nakuru coach Mitch Ocholla said his team had turned up early for the match, having warmed up from 3pm but the pitch wasn’t marked properly.

“Strathmore wanted a rematch mid-week but our players will not be available,” said Ocholla adding that he expects a tough match against Impala.

“We had a high-scoring match when we last met them and that might not change.”
