The big guns have reloaded for Kabeberi Sevens that starts proper on Saturday at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

Kenya Sevens speedster Collins Injera is back to spearhead Mwamba’s assault while the Stanbic Bank National Sevens Series leaders Homeboyz have brought on board Kenya Sevens skipper Oscar Ayodi and international Augustine Lugonzo.

Kenya Commercials bank (KCB) have also bolstered their squad for Kabeberi that is the third leg of the Series with long time Kenya Sevens player Andrew Amonde and Adrian Opondo.

Injera, who will be the playmaker, has been drafted into the black shirts team alongside Alex Aturo as they aim to go one step higher after reaching the Prinsloo and Sepetuka finals.

Mwamba head coach Kevin “Bling” Wambua, who is back after attending a high performance course with Super Rugby side Crusaders in New Zealand, said he will not tinker much with the team.

Wambua said Mwamba might have lost to Homeboyz 19-12 and 27-0 in the Prinsloo and Sepetuka finals respectively, but their progress has inspired his boys to go for glory in the third leg of the Stanbic Bank National Sevens Series.

“It has not been easy considering that we have the youngest squad in the Series apart from Strathmore,” said Wambua.

Mwamba open their Pool “B" quest against Kisumu at 10.30am before meeting Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad.
