Shujaa survive Spain scare to enter Safari 7s final

Kenya Shujaa survived a scare from a spirited Spain side before edging them 31-26 to qualify for the Safari Sevens Main Cup final at the RFUEA Ground on Sunday.
In what will be a repeat of the 2015 and 2016 final, Shujaa will now meet Samurai who beat Kenya Morans 15-7 in the second semi-final.
Samurai edged out Shujaa 20-19 to lift the 2015 title but Shujaa would claim swift revenge, beating Samurai 38-22 to win the 2016 diadem. Shujaa couldn't defend the title last after the tournament failed to take place.
In the first semi-final, Spain rallied from behind twice to draw level 14-14 at half time before making it 26-26 at full time and send the match to extra time where Harold Anduvate touched down to send Shujaa to the final.
Juan Lucas Martinez gave Spain a 7-0 lead when he converted his own try before Leonard Mugaisi played through Daniel Taabu who landed after a smashing handoff.
Johnstone Olindi converted to level at 7-7 before Mugaisi crossed the white chalk and Taabu converted for Shujaa to lead 14-7.
Garcia Pichardie converted his own try to ensure both teams headed to the break level at 14-14.
Taabu completed his brace of tries with skipper Eden Agero making the extras as Shujaa reclaimed the lead again 21-14 only for Pichardie to land his second try for another 21-21 stalemate.
Substitute Harold Anduvate put Kenya ahead with a try which Manuel Trapanga cancelled with a try of his own at the hooter to take the match to extra time.
